Purpose of the Role:

mPulse Mobile is looking for a talented Engineering Manager to lead teams of software engineers. The ideal candidate has experience managing and leading teams in a startup environment. Someone who enjoys challenges and solving problems. Has experience with technologies such as Python, Postgres, SQL and other web engineering technologies. He or she should also have a passion for making the consumer healthcare experience better using communication technology.

 Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead/manage team of 10 software engineers.
  • Drive technical projects and provide leadership and motivation in an innovative, fast-paced environment.
  • Provide technical product guidance to customers as well as internal staff, through web interface, via email and phone when appropriate.
  • Guide development, testing and documentation teams during product development cycle to ensure quality control.
  • Consistently deliver innovative projects on schedule and create collaboration across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Ensure technical quality of products.
  • Involved in scaling- building, hiring, and firing.

Skills, Abilities, and Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required. MS or other related advanced degree preferred.
  • Requires 10+ years of experience, at least 3 years of which were in leading enterprise software development teams (10+ people).
  • Extensive technical experience with developing application on full stack of HTTP, JSON, REST, Angular JS, Python, SQL and no-SQL databases.
  • Experience developing and managing complex and scalable service oriented architectures.
  • Experience working in secure and compliance-oriented environment (HIPAA, PCI/DSS, etc.)
  • Experience working with Big data, Cloud (AWS), AI or Machine Learning technologies desired.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively work with all stakeholders to improve data and business processes and to negotiate priorities.
  • Experience with Agile development processes.
  • Healthcare industry experience is a big plus.
  • Have worked in startup environment preferred.
  • Strong Leadership/management skills.
